You don’t need to start from scratch to create a project in Cynoia. If you already have task lists in a spreadsheet or are migrating from another tool, our import wizard helps you generate a complete project in just a few clicks.
How to import a project
The import wizard guides you step by step to ensure your data is correctly formatted.
Steps:
From the left sidebar, click on Integrations or use the import option in the Projects space.
Select the import file option (Upload file).
Upload your file in .csv or .xlsx format.
Step 1: Map columns
Once the file is uploaded, Cynoia must understand how to read your data. You need to match the columns of your file with Cynoia’s system fields:
Project name -> Choose the column containing your task titles.
Description -> Match the column containing the details.
You can also match assignees, start/end dates, and labels.
Step 2: Map status fields
If your file contains a column for task progress status, you must link these statuses to those in Cynoia.
Example: Match your "To-Do" status to the system status To do.
Match "In progress" to In Progress.
Match "Completed" to Completed.
Step 3: Validate and import
The wizard will automatically validate your data to ensure there are no errors (e.g., incorrectly formatted dates).
It will display a summary (e.g., 10 Valid Tasks, 0 Invalid Tasks).
Click on Start import.
Your data will be transformed into a fully functional Cynoia project within seconds, with all your tasks ready in your Kanban or List view!
